Jon Lock
Jon is the creator and writer of Afterlife Inc. and numerous other short stories and comics. He is a contributor to the Dead Roots anthology and has written for the Harvey Award Nominated Uniques Tales. His work has also been featured in the 2011 Margate Marine Studios 'Adventures in Comics' Exhibition.
Jon is a graduate of Leicester University with a Bachelor's in Biological Sciences. Eschewing the lure of a life in research, he instead returned to his first and most enduring passion: comics. A year spent travelling and working in Canada helped turn this fancy into a fully fledged, potential career, and he has since spent an inordinate amount of time working to make his dream a reality.
The advice and friendship of the many talented creators he has been lucky enough to meet over the last few years has been instrumental in bringing his own stories to life. Afterlife Inc. - a tale of death, murder and lies - was not born in a dark place. Despite all evidence to the contrary, it remains the most enjoyable and uplifting world to spend time in. If Jon can convince only a handful of people of this fact, he will consider his work complete.
Jon lives in Cheltenham with his wonderful girlfriend, Lucy. He divides his time between the writing desk and his day job of 'School Science Technician'. He is a scientist, and has the white coat to prove it.
Jon is slowly arriving at the frustrating conclusion that he is actually a very happy person. This may not bode well for fans of brooding angst, but it at least hints towards an abundance of future happy endings. His love of comics remains pure, unadulterated and incredibly fulfilling.
